“After my baby was released from the NICU, breast feeding was a major struggle. It hurt every time my baby latched on, and I kept getting blisters. I nursed in pain for 4 months! Little did I know that breastfeeding isn’t supposed to hurt!

“I had been struggling to get my preemie to nurse for several months before I met with Wendy. I had been told from the start (from a nurse) that my “body wasn’t built for nursing” and that I would have to use a nipple shield forever if I wanted to breastfeed. I was very discouraged and tired, but knew how important breast milk was and wanted so badly to be able to nurse like other mothers could. With one visit, Wendy helped my son latch on (without the nipple shield) and reassured me that my body was just perfect for nursing. It was if that little bit of direction and confidence in myself and in my baby was all it took because after that one day I went on to nurse my son for 11 more months without any issues at all.”- Nikki, UT   Photo Credit: 2011 Sweet Pea Photos — at Sweet Pea...

“Wendy helped me at a crucial time for me and my baby. He was five days old and I was having a complete mental breakdown because of how painful and difficult breastfeeding had been for me. I had taken two breastfeeding classes prior to birth, so I was shocked that I was having such a hard time. She showed up and brought such a warm, positive spirit with her. She knew exactly what I needed to hear and after just a few minutes of encouragement and thorough instruction, I felt completely renewed! She taught my husband and mother how they could support me and it was smooth sailing after she left! Wendy isn’t just a lactation consultant – she’s a warm, caring person who honestly cares about what’s best for me and my baby. She wasn’t rushing through it like most would. She was a breath of fresh air; making me laugh, relax, feel empowered and finally able to enjoy the beautiful gift of bonding with my child that comes with breastfeeding. It was so important to me to be able to breastfeed and Wendy “held my hand”, so-to-speak, until I had it down. She’s truly amazing!” –Brin,Orem,...
